Program Details

One Degree, Multiple Program Formats

The Lazaridis MBA is built for flexibility. Whether you’re a recent graduate looking for co-op experience or a working professional advancing your career, you'll have the flexibility to choose the delivery format that best aligns with your goals. All students benefit from a strong shared foundation that includes a common core curriculum, hands-on experiential learning, and small classes led by award-winning faculty.

With dedicated career services and professional development support, every pathway prepares you to apply what you learn in real time and graduate as a confident, career-ready leader.

Applied Business Research Consulting Project

Gain valuable hands-on experience tackling real-world business challenges through the Applied Business Research Consulting Project. Working in teams, you’ll provide consulting services to a client facing immediate management decisions. With guidance from faculty and input from industry practitioners, you’ll apply the knowledge and skills you’ve developed throughout the MBA to help resolve pressing organizational issues.

More than 1,200 organizations, from startups to multinational corporations, have partnered with Lazaridis MBA students on these projects. This capstone experience not only strengthens your problem-solving and presentation skills, but also gives you an opportunity to make an impact before you graduate.

Not-for-Profit Practicum

At Laurier, our mission to inspire lives of leadership and purpose includes a long-standing commitment to community service. A LinkedIn study ranked Laurier graduates #1 in the world for volunteerism, and the Lazaridis MBA proudly carries this tradition forward.

In the Not-for-Profit Practicum, every MBA candidate contributes to a field-based community service project with a not-for-profit organization of their choice. While many students already volunteer independently, this practicum ensures that every graduate leaves the program with meaningful experience in social impact, leadership, and community engagement.

Concentrations and Courses

Foundational Core Courses

The Lazaridis MBA begins with the foundational core — seven integrated courses that cover every essential area of business. Taught through real-world cases and applied projects, this curriculum builds the knowledge and confidence you’ll need to succeed as a leader. Over more than 40 years this distinctive approach has prepared students to analyze complex problems, think across business functions, and develop the skills to advance their careers.

  • BU601 Strategic Management: Explore how organizations set direction, lead change and coordinate across business functions using essential management tools.
  • BU602 Marketing: Learn how to analyze markets, understand customer needs, and design strategies that create value across the organization.
  • BU603 Financial Management: Gain a solid grounding in corporate finance—valuation, investment, financing decisions and managing risk—knowledge every leader needs.
  • BU604 Organizational Behaviour: Understand how people and organizations interact, and build the skills to lead teams and drive change effectively.
  • BU605 Operations Management: Study the processes that drive efficient operations, from product design to quality management, and learn how to optimize systems that support organizational performance.
  • BU607 Financial Reporting and Analysis: Build the accounting knowledge to interpret financial reports, evaluate performance and apply insights to both short- and long-term decisions.
  • BU609 Business Analytics: Learn how to use data and analytical tools to make smarter business decisions and solve problems across every area of management.

Building Your MBA: Concentrations and Electives

The Lazaridis MBA offers five optional concentrations so you can customize your studies and align the program with your career goals.
