Gain valuable hands-on experience tackling real-world business challenges through the Applied Business Research Consulting Project. Working in teams, you’ll provide consulting services to a client facing immediate management decisions. With guidance from faculty and input from industry practitioners, you’ll apply the knowledge and skills you’ve developed throughout the MBA to help resolve pressing organizational issues.
More than 1,200 organizations, from startups to multinational corporations, have partnered with Lazaridis MBA students on these projects. This capstone experience not only strengthens your problem-solving and presentation skills, but also gives you an opportunity to make an impact before you graduate.
At Laurier, our mission to inspire lives of leadership and purpose includes a long-standing commitment to community service. A LinkedIn study ranked Laurier graduates #1 in the world for volunteerism, and the Lazaridis MBA proudly carries this tradition forward.
In the Not-for-Profit Practicum, every MBA candidate contributes to a field-based community service project with a not-for-profit organization of their choice. While many students already volunteer independently, this practicum ensures that every graduate leaves the program with meaningful experience in social impact, leadership, and community engagement.
The Lazaridis MBA begins with the foundational core — seven integrated courses that cover every essential area of business. Taught through real-world cases and applied projects, this curriculum builds the knowledge and confidence you’ll need to succeed as a leader. Over more than 40 years this distinctive approach has prepared students to analyze complex problems, think across business functions, and develop the skills to advance their careers.
The Lazaridis MBA offers five optional concentrations so you can customize your studies and align the program with your career goals. You may choose to complete up to two concentrations, and each requires three courses from the options listed below. Note that selecting a concentration is optional. As part of your Lazaridis MBA, you’ll also have the flexibility to select up to six electives from a wide range of courses covering all areas of business functions.
This concentration focuses on using business analytics to understand the operations and outcomes of your organization’s practices. This concentration will teach you how to produce and interpret data and use it to take decisive action.
This concentration focuses on the logistics of business operations. You will gain a practical and theoretical understanding of how to apply an analytical lens to business challenges such as supply chain logistics, marketing, or operations management.
This concentration is designed for learners looking to start their own company or bring an innovative mindset to their organization. You will gain a valuable entrepreneurial toolkit centred around accounting, organizations design, scaling, and incorporating innovation into your business venture.
Building on the foundational accounting course in this program, this concentration will teach you advanced practices in finance and accounting management to ensure the financial and operational success of your organization.
This concentration will equip you with advanced leadership techniques and help you gain a managerial perspective centred around strategy, leadership, negotiation, and organizational change.
"The Lazaridis MBA is more than a degree; it's where individuals from diverse backgrounds and industries come together to challenge themselves, grow, and inspire each other. At Laurier we blend real-world learning with hands-on experiences, while staying committed to delivering an outstanding student experience."

Part-Time Program:
Our Full-Time, Full-Time with Co-op, and Part-Time MBA programs follow a rolling admissions model for both domestic and international applicants.
Applications are reviewed as they’re received, and offers are made year-round until each cohort is full or the deadline passes.
Because programs can fill quickly, and international students need time to secure a study permit, we strongly recommend applying early.
Note: Eligible applicants with a Canadian BBA or BComm (minimum B average in final two years), or those holding a CPA or CFA designation, may request core course exclusions at the time of application. This request should be included in the statement of intent.
After you have submitted your OUAC application, paid the non-refundable application fee, and Laurier has received your application, you'll receive an email from gradadmissions@wlu.ca advising you to upload the additional required documentation to Laurier’s Online Registration and Information System (LORIS).
Please note, the application process and the uploading of supplemental documentation, which includes references, typically takes two weeks.
