Rely on Your Resources

Career Centre

The Career Centre provides programs and services to help you understand who you are, what you want to achieve and can help you develop strategies to get there. We have centres on both our Waterloo and Brantford campuses, where you are welcome to drop in at any time and access any of the resources available.

All services are included as part of your student fees, meaning you can access them as much and as often as you'd like.

Events

Networking events and job fairs are excellent resources for finding your dream job and starting your career. Through these events, you can make connections to get to know people in the industry and ask questions to determine if a career path is right for you. We annually host employer recruiting sessions, career panels, networking events, and fairs.

Our career and job fairs are the largest of their kind in Canada.

Start With a Plan

Career Planning

We believe that the major you choose and the career you seek should represent positive steps in your path to a rewarding future. When you understand yourself and are informed about your options, you will have the tools to make choices that will enable you to succeed in whichever career direction you aspire.

Career planning is an ongoing process including self-awareness, career awareness, goal setting and employment preparation. Our career professionals will help you understand yourself and what you are looking for in a career through our one-on-one appointments.

Job Postings

Find part-time or summer employment to help pay for your tuition or living expenses. Our Career Centre curates job postings and lists them on a virtual job board. Full-time, part-time, on- and off-campus jobs are posted throughout the year. As a Laurier student, you'll have access starting from day one in your first year.

Network Effectively

Create a profile, find connections, and schedule a time for a coffee chat with an alum. Whether you are in the process of choosing a career, preparing for a job interview, or exploring where your major or degree might lead you, Ten Thousand Coffees is an excellent way to gather information and learn from Laurier alumni.
