Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Laurier has two campuses: one in Waterloo and one in Brantford. Laurier’s campuses are located at the heart of southwestern Ontario, Canada’s most populous province. Ontario is home to Ottawa, Canada’s capital city, and Toronto, the largest city in Canada.
Our campuses are less than 200 km to many of Canada’s largest cities, the United States’ border, and international airports:
Note: Distances calculated from the Waterloo campus.
Explore our campuses to learn about city populations, entertainment and outdoor activities. You can visit us from anywhere in the world at any time. Take a virtual tour of our Brantford and Waterloo campuses – your future home away from home.
Take a look at some of our favourite campus spots and get a feel for what it's like to be at Laurier.
The Waterloo campus is tucked into about one city block, so you’re steps away from your classes, food and your new favourite study spot.
Our current students will take you on a guided virtual tour so that you can see our campus spaces and start to picture yourself at Laurier. Book a live virtual tour or watch the pre-recorded tour.
The Brantford campus is woven into the downtown core of the City of Brantford.
Our current students will take you on a guided virtual tour so that you can see our campus spaces and start to picture yourself at Laurier. Book a live virtual tour or watch the pre-recorded tour.
We have a broad range of spaces for you to learn, and we continue to innovate in space design.
With our campuses located on the outskirts of the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area (GTA), you get the dual benefit of access to big city perks with a lower cost of living. Your living expenses will be significantly lower in Waterloo or Brantford than if you lived in the GTA, yet you are close enough to harness employment opportunities and attend the cultural festivities Toronto has to offer.
There are plenty of transportation options to get you where you need to go. If you’re headed to Toronto or international airports, hop on the GO Bus or VIA Rail. For getting around town, you can also bike share, carpool, or take a cab. Affordable public transportation options also include the bus and light rail transit. As a Laurier student, you will have access to discounted rates and transportation information resources to help you get from A to B.
Laurier is dedicated to your personal success and safety. No matter which campus you attend, you’ll experience the welcoming, safe community we’re known for.
We have a dedicated team of experienced law enforcement to respond to your needs, concerns and emergencies – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your safety and security are top priority and we have several initiatives in place to create safe and secure campuses:
We make sure you have everything you need to feel welcome, comfortable and safe in our vibrant community.
Canada's climate allows you to experience all four seasons. Our cities will be blanketed in snow through the winter months, and warm and sunny through the summer months.
In the winter you will find fellow golden hawks skating on local ice rinks, snowshoeing through city parks, or tobogganing after a fresh snow fall. In the summer, take in the fresh air by hiking along local trails, going to the beach for a swim, or canoeing down the Grand River.
No matter what season we are in, whether you’re playing in the snow or in the sun, there are lots of activities to indulge in.
Canada is committed to supporting international students achieve a seamless integration into the workforce.
The Canadian Experience Class provides an opportunity for international students to apply for permanent resident status once they have graduated from a university and have one year of work experience.
Canada’s post-graduation work permit allows eligible Laurier graduates to work in Canada and gain valuable work experience. Work obtained through the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program may help support an application to become a permanent resident in Canada.
