Proudly Canadian

Laurier is committed to offering you a truly Canadian experience and we take pride in being an inclusive community that celebrates diversity. Discover why 96% of international students recommend Canada as a study destination, and how Laurier’s campuses provide an ideal location to live, work and play.

Canada is home to a diverse nation of people from around the world. Citizens are proud to be Canadian because as a nation we accept and respect people from any cultural background. Over the past 100 years, more than 13 million immigrants have come to Canada to start a new life. This makes Canada one of the world's most ethnically diverse countries.

Canada's cultural mosaic is evident in the variety of restaurants and grocery stores, religious places of worship, and festivals throughout the year. Residents enjoy a high quality of life and access to dynamic and growing urban centres, scenic landscapes, and diverse entertainment and culture.

Climate

Canada's climate allows you to experience all four seasons. Our cities will be blanketed in snow through the winter months, and warm and sunny through the summer months.

In the winter you will find fellow golden hawks skating on local ice rinks, snowshoeing through city parks, or tobogganing after a fresh snow fall. In the summer, take in the fresh air by hiking along local trails, going to the beach for a swim, or canoeing down the Grand River.

No matter what season we are in, whether you’re playing in the snow or in the sun, there are lots of activities to indulge in.
