Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Second-Year Business Administration and Financial Mathematics
Sarnia, Ontario

Hello future Golden Hawks!

My name is Monica Morrison and I am currently in my second year of the Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Financial Mathematics Double Degree. Not too long ago I was in your position, trying to figure out which school was the best fit for me. Even when I arrived on campus I had no idea what Laurier had in store for me. At the end of my first year, Laurier had not only exceeded all my expectations of university, but had become my home away from home.

From move-in day, I have felt supported in my growth by people I have met through Residence Life, Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union, and in the Laurier community. I became involved in my residence through events like Hawk Weekend where my residence building (Go Waterloo College Hall!) competed with other residences across campus. I became an Executive on First Year Project, a Students’ Union club dedicated to making the first year experience absolutely amazing. But most importantly, I was an absolute star on my intramural Inner Tube Water Polo team when I achieved my personal record of scoring one goal throughout an entire season of a sport.

After only one year at Laurier, I have felt the spirit that the Laurier community has to offer. The students’ enthusiasm is infectious. I look forward to sharing my love of Laurier with incoming first years as an Orientation Week Icebreaker.

I would like to encourage you to take a campus tour to see why we call Laurier our home. I can’t wait to see you on campus and welcome you to the Golden Hawk family.
