Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Hey future Golden Hawks!

I’m Sharon! I’m a fifth-year Health Science major with minors in chemistry, biology and psychology and I could not be more excited to welcome you to Laurier! This is my second time as an ambassador and I can’t wait for you to join our Golden Hawk family.

Laurier definitely has a special place in my heart as it is for many others. I come from a tight-knit family and a smaller city (Milton represent!) so I was nervous to leave them and start university, but coming to Laurier was absolutely wonderful because it is such an inviting, close community and I felt at home right away. It was so easy to get involved and I have made friendships that will last a life time. There are so many clubs and associations you can be a part of and it’s so easy to join. Within my, soon going to be five years, I have joined the Emergency Response Team (totally amazing in my humble and totally non-biased opinion), played soccer and dodgeball (greatest sports ever, again completely unbiased), volunteering with Student’s Union for our fantastic Orientation week and lots more. I’m excited to see what this year has in store for me.

I have never second guessed my choice of coming to Laurier, you can always find a friendly face of someone you know passing by and you feel right at home. I wish you the best of luck in your university endeavours.

Welcome home Golden Hawk.
