Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Second-Year Business Administration
Mississauga, Ontario

Hey there! My name is Angela Zhou, and I’m in my second year of the Business Administration program. Although it’s still early on in my studies, I can truly say that I’ve found a home away from home at Laurier, and I hope you will too.

University is an incredibly unique experience, one you’ll only be able to treasure once in your lifetime. So, when I made my decision, I was looking for somewhere that would keep me excited about what I was learning, while giving me chances to get involved and make lifelong friends. Laurier has given me all that and more, validating my decision to become a Golden Hawk every day.

One of the many reasons why I love Laurier is due to how tight-knit the community is. Being in such a positive environment is truly inspiring, and it’s led me to pursue volunteer positions with different organizations like the Emergency Response Team, the Laurier Consulting Club and Women in Leadership Laurier.

As a student in the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, I’ve also had plenty of opportunities to apply class concepts into business cases, presentations and competitions. In first year, we had the challenge of proposing a social venture to help tackle the UN Sustainable Development Goals. My group’s proposal was chosen to be presented in front of faculty and representatives from Enactus Canada! It’s experiences like these that can truly shape what your four years at university become.

I hope to see your friendly faces around campus next year, continuing to do incredible things. Good luck and stay golden!
