Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

The Lazaridis School’s Business Technology Management (BTM) program is a specialized kind of business education. We believe that being immersed in the world of technology is key in preparing our future leaders for success in companies where understanding technology is a competitive advantage.
The BTM offers many opportunities to hone their real-world skills in an enriching and immersive environment. One such opportunity is the Case@BTM initiative.
Our developmental case workshop program is available to all students in the BTM program. Faculty-led case-based learning and skills development workshops are designed to enhance students’ academic program, develop critical thinking skills, and build confidence in formulating and presenting solutions to complex problems facing real-world organizations.
Students who are inspired to test their learning can participate in a 24-hour case competition in the winter and a four-hour case competition in the spring.
“An amazing, challenging experience. In the case competition, talking with my team members under pressure and sharing our ideas with the judges helped me advance my communication skills. My teamwork skills also improved by learning when to move on from an argument and find common ground. A big bonus to joining the case competition is getting to apply what you learned in the BTM classes to the real-world.”
