Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I hold a BMus (Performance) from Laurier, an MMus (Performance) from Temple University and a BEd from the University of Western Ontario.
My freelance career has included playing with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Canadian Chamber Ensemble, the Stratford Festival Orchestra and fanfares, the Elora Festival Orchestra, NUMUS, Orchestra London, Maryland Symphony Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony, and the Reading Society Orchestra of Philadelphia.
I am a founding member of the New Art Quartet with 3 other Laurier faculty members. Our quartet explores contemporary repertoire for 2 pianos and 2 percussion.
I am also a member of the New Berlin Ensemble for L’Accordeoniste, with Kimberley Barber.
Other work includes facilitating workshops and leading drum circles for musicians, educators, businesses and community groups.
I am in the process of becoming a certified Dalcroze instructor, looking at how the intersection of movement, solfege and improvisation can result in an understanding of gesture as related to melodic and rhythmic line, an aesthetic awareness of the rhythmic body as a musical instrument, a more attentive and accurate ear, a more nuanced performance and a deeper connection to the creative process. I want to also explore how drumming may facilitate Dalcrozian principles.
