Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I am going into my fifth year at Wilfrid Laurier University in the Bachelor of Music Performance program. At Laurier, I studied with Kimberly Barber from September 2018 to April 2022. I teach a wide range of styles from classical to pop, rock, and metal. My list of stage credits includes characters such as Grandpa Joe in Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, and Le Chevalier in Opera Laurier’s online production of Dialogues des Carmelites.
I have been the recipient of numerous scholarships including the Faculty of Music Achievement Awards, the Marion Eleda Armbrust Scholarship, the Martens-Falk Scholarship in Voice Performance, and the Maureen Forrester Music Scholarship. I also placed first in the 2020 NATS competition in the Second Year Voice and First/Second Year Musical Theatre categories.
When it comes to teaching voice, I strive to help singers get more in touch with the basics of music. Following your ear and trusting yourself in a musical space with others can be a very intimidating thing, but I always assure my students that my lessons are a completely judgement free zone. The goals are always to feel comfortable in yourself when it comes to music, and ultimately, to have as much fun as you can in the process!
