For Immediate Release
Waterloo – Members of the media are welcome to attend Wilfrid Laurier University’s 10th annual Empty Bowls charity event. Empty Bowls is a long-running annual fundraiser for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region, spearheaded by the Waterloo Potters' Workshop.
The Waterloo Potters’ Workshop has created 125 bowls for this sold-out event at the Library on Laurier’s Waterloo campus. On May 16, attendees can choose their favourite bowl and fill it up with soup, prepared by Laurier Food Services, the Laurier Students’ Union and Veritas Café. Five varieties of soup will be available, along with bread, refreshments and cake. There will also be a special door prize draw for those who have attended all nine previous Empty Bowls events. Two students from Laurier’s Community Music program, Marice Moore and Jacquie Pugh, will perform over lunch.
When: Thursday, May 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (doors open at 11 a.m.)
Where: Laurier Library, main floor
The bowls will be on exhibition in the Robert Langen Art Gallery in advance of lunch May 13 to 15 from noon to 3 p.m.
