Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Third-Year Business Administration

Hey Future Golden Hawks!

My name is Nick Molkoski, I am in my third year of the Business Administration program and I can honestly say I’ve found another home here at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Even now in my third year, it still feels like I was just in your shoes yesterday. I was asking myself questions like, “Do I want to move away or stay at home?” and “Can I survive on Kraft Dinner and grilled cheese?” These questions were quickly answered when I toured Laurier at their Fall Open House. Everyone said, and still says, “Laurier is special for its small size, big heart and endless opportunities.” Our campus may be smaller in size, but we have been sure to fill it with the most passionate, ambitious and welcoming students and faculty.

Since starting at Laurier, I continue to be amazed as to how many opportunities there are to get involved and explore different interests. I’ve been given the chance to represent my first-year residence as our House Council’s President, play basketball on our Residence Athletic Council basketball team, successfully campaign in the Students’ Union elections for the Board of Directors and then serve as the Unions’ Vice Chair. As well, through our Co-op program, I’ve gained experience over this past summer as a risk analyst in the insurance industry downtown Toronto.

In becoming a Golden Hawk, you are one step closer to finding what your true passions are. The entire community at Laurier is here to make sure you leave this once-in-a-life-time opportunity full of memories and a feeling of fulfilment. Your path to graduation is currently unpaved, so take the time to try new things and enjoy everything our campus has to offer!

At Laurier, as long as you take on every opportunity with a Golden attitude, things will work out for the best and you’ll look back thankful you chose to be a Laurier Golden Hawk!

I can’t wait to see you on campus, and I hope you have a great time planning for university!
