Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Why do I love Laurier?

Many people have the privilege of feeling the pressure of choosing a university. I used to think that I got lucky since I attend a school that recognizes my goals and is willing to go above and beyond to help me reach them. Then I realized that luck had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Ever since my first day at this school, I have never received anything but kindness, opportunities and the willingness of other people to help create a new home for me. From school-wide events such as Orientation Week, the Laurier Get Involved Fair and Hawk Weekend, students here have shown me an abundance of ways to get involved. Thankfully, from my experience, I tend to feel more passionate about schools that I become more involved with, and that’s what makes this school so special.

There were so many opportunities in my first year, but I can say with the utmost confidence that there is bound to be something here that is right for you. Something that makes you feel like you are a part of the community and a part of your new home. Thousands of my peers and I were very fortunate to have met others who we can call family, and I would like nothing more than for you to find your new family here at Laurier, too!
