Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Hey future Golden Hawks! My name is Connor Jenkins and I am a third-year Psychology major with a minor in Criminology. Choosing Laurier not only as my university but also my second home has been an unforgettable and life changing experience.

After being an off-campus student in my first-year, I knew I wanted to continue to take part in the Laurier community and be involved. In grade 12, I never knew the depth and variety of clubs, academics, and associations I could be a part of.

After three years at Laurier, I have become involved in almost everything that the university has to offer. I have been lucky enough to be a part of the Emergency Response Team, Intramurals, Orientation Week, Hawks Helping Hawks, Winter Carnival, and Athletics and Reaction as a Lifeguard. This year, I am thrilled to be the Internal Trainer Executive on the Emergency Response Team, a Lifeguard Supervisor and a Campus Ambassador.

Not only have I fallen in love with the extracurricular opportunities, but I have also experienced a deepening of my knowledge and academic skill through outstanding courses offered by Laurier.

There isn’t a day where I wake up at Laurier not looking forward to getting involved. I never imagined I would be counting down the days until I can go back home, because home is where the hawk is.

Best of luck in making your decision, and I hope to see you all on campus. Class of 2022, Welcome to Laurier!
