Join us at Laurier

Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

My Favourite Quote:

“Life is bigger than people say it is. You have to experience it, not read about it”. – Denis Ten

Three Facts About Me:

  • I have been figure skating for 13 years, and I am training to be a CanSkate coach.
  • I’ve travelled to Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England, and I would love to travel to other places such as Taiwan and Japan.
  • I love music! Some of my favourite bands include Marianas Trench, Queen and Starset.

Why Did You Choose Laurier?

I chose Laurier’s Brantford campus because the smaller campus made it a lot easier for me to get used to university life; coming from a small town, I wasn’t completely overwhelmed when I started at Laurier Brantford. Laurier also offers a unique version of my program; I’m able to get both a degree from Laurier, as well as a certificate from Conestoga College in 4 years!

Involvement on Campus:

  • Laurier Brantford Figure Skating Club
  • Orientation Week Ice Breaker
  • Foot Patrol
  • Digital Media and Journalism Student Association
  • First Year Leadership Program Sustainability Council – Community Representative
  • Note-Taker with the Accessible Learning Centre

Three Favourite Courses that I Have Taken at Laurier:

  • Reporting and Writing for News
  • Indigenous Peoples and Media
  • The Art of Storytelling
