Services for Laurier Students

Laurier students who complete their graduate certificate qualifications in third year at Conestoga maintain their status as Laurier Golden Hawks and receive continued access to Laurier student services. For detailed information on the services available to you as a Laurier student, visit students.wlu.ca. You also become Conestoga Condors and receive access to Conestoga resources. Services for Conestoga College Students

The Laurier-Conestoga working partnership offers Conestoga students who attend classes held at Laurier’s Brantford campus select access to Laurier Brantford support services. As a Conestoga student, familiarize yourself with the following list of Laurier resources available to you.  

Accessible Learning Centre

Committed to assisting students with disabilities reach their full academic potential, Laurier's Accessible Learning Centre offers assistance with learning strategies, study skills, alternate-format course materials, accommodation planning and much more. Reach out to our qualified team who is dedicated to help you succeed.

Athletics and Recreation

Opening late summer 2018, the Laurier-YMCA will be the new home for Laurier Brantford's Athletics and Recreation Department. The state-of-the-art facility will offer a variety of recreational and competitive opportunities to support your health and wellness.

Career Centre

The Laurier Brantford Career Centre offers you the support and resources to be engaged in your career development. Visit the Career Centre, located in the SC Johnson Building at 38 Market Street, first floor, room 112, to receive professional advice on your resume, assistance applying for further education, and much more.

Centre for Student Success

Laurier’s Centre for Student Success can help you develop your academic skills. Attend a workshop, develop effective study habits, or schedule a one-on-one appointment with trained mentors to receive feedback on assignments. 

Computer Access

You will have access to Laurier computers with a personalized on-campus computer login. Use your Condor-ID to log in to the Laurier Wi-Fi or for printing on campus through PaperCut.  

The Hub and Stedman Community Bookstore

The Laurier Brantford Hub offers a variety of services for students including printing services, tech products and on-the-go convenience items. Right next door is the Stedman Community Bookstore where you will find a variety of stationary items and Conestoga merchandise.

Indigenous Student Centre

Laurier’s Indigenous Student Centres offer a wide range of supportive, holistic, cultural and academic programming.

OneCard

The Laurier OneCard is your multipurpose student photo identification card. Pick up your OneCard at Service Laurier Brantford, with valid government-issued photo identification, and use it to:

  • Check out books at the Brantford Public Library.
  • Gain access to the Laurier-YMCA Athletic Centre.
  • Gain swipe access to the 24-hour student centre.
  • Load convenience dollars which can be used towards printing costs at PaperCut or The Hub.
    • Note: Your card will be automatically loaded with funds for printing services each term.
  • Receive student discounts on public transportation and full-time students can catch a free ride on Grand River Transit buses.

Note: The Laurier OneCard is not the same as the Conestoga One Card; as a student attending a program at the Laurier Brantford campus you will only require the Laurier OneCard.  

PaperCut

Print, copy and scan using the campus-wide print management system Papercut, available to you in the libraries, print labs and on the public access copiers on Laurier’s Brantford campus. Printing and photocopying require funds on your PaperCut account.

Parking

Should you wish to inquire about student parking opportunities on campus, email lbparking@wlu.caAlternatively, the Market Centre Parkade is a three-level parking garage with 950 spaces available by permit. This parkade is owned by the city and permits can be purchased in the parkade located at 59 Icomm Drive, Brantford.

Special Constable Service

Your safety is our top priority. For emergencies, dial 519.756.8228 x5888 to dispatch Special Constable Services. Ensure you download the SafeHawk application and allow push notifications to receive alerts.

Wellness Centre

The Brantford campus Wellness Centre is located on the second floor of the Student Centre, 103 Darling Street, and provides you with access to a variety of wellness professionals including: doctors, registered nurses, counsellors, chiropractors, massage therapists and physiotherapists. While you can utilize Laurier’s resources, your insurance coverage is through Conestoga.
